About

Congregation Shaaray Tefilah (“CST”) is a vibrant, multi-generational, Orthodox Jewish Synagogue and community center serving the spiritual, educational and social needs of its diverse members. For over 35 years, CST provides multiple minyanim, comprehensive Torah learning opportunities, social programs, an extensive chessed infrastructure, and rich teen and youth programming.

Rabbi Ephraim Eliyahu Shapiro, our Rabbi for almost 18 years, is a well-known and visible symbol of leadership. Rabbi Shapiro has recognition as a spokesman for the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation and, amongst other things, lectures internationally, publishes regularly in newspapers and on the Internet, and is followed by thousands on a daily telephone class that is heard around the world.

In recent years, Rabbi Shapiro has lead groups to historic Eastern Europe Holocaust-related locales, taking members of our Shul and others to “travel in the footsteps of the Chofetz Chaim.”

CST is also actively engaged in Outreach, Israel Advocacy, Multi-Level Adult Education, and more. The Israel Committee of Greater Miami meets at CST and hosts many functions here. For many years, CST hosted the North Miami Beach Community Kollel until it could scquire its own building, to provide our community with additional basic and advanced Torah study opportunities day and night. CST serves as a center for Hatzalah of Miami-Dade, with many members serving as licensed Florida emergency Medical Technicians. CST hosts community forums with many elected Miami-Dade and North Miami Beach officials. Seminars are given throughout the year by visiting rabbis, doctors, lawyers and other professionals on a wide range of timely subjects. More than just a Synagogue, CST is a community seeking to inspire individuals and families of all ages, backgrounds, levels of education and observance.

Please join us for a Shabbos, a weekday or Holiday service or an educational or social program, and we are confident that you will find a warm and welcoming home.
